We have just concluded our unit on community. We defined a community, talked about how our needs are met in a community and how communities in different parts of Canada, and the world, differ. We learned how people have different perspectives and how these perspectives are influenced by our personal interests and values. Last week we made maps of our hearts (which are displayed in our hallway and worth a look). We tied things up this week by drawing maps of our own communities. Each student included only those items that they personally felt are essential to have in their community! Be sure to scroll through the maps above to see the similarities and differences in the maps.
